A Photography Exhibition by Bahar Taghiani. Hosted by Abbotsford Convent.
The exhibition is inspired by women that live in Iran, who are faced with extreme political and religious laws placed upon them in everyday life. Women in Iran have very little to no rights among modern day society forcing them into isolation and losing one’s self confidence. Unfortunately, women are less likely to be involved in their community resulting in personality issues. This is a growing problem in Iran as women have no choice but to accept these historical beliefs placed upon them and it has now become a part of main stream society for women in Iran.
This exhibition will show these elements of a female’s life in Iran as I took photos and some secretly form when I was living in Iran, living in the lighter shade of darkness.
